Getting back into running after a little mandatory hiatus due to a patella injury in my knee and it feels so good to run again. Turns out  that after seeing my doctor and consulting with my buddies over at Laces in Scripps Ranch, my Nike's were the cause of my injury. While he was fitting me with a few different shoes to try to see what I will like best a woman came in with an ankle injury and, you guessed it, Nike's. Now I know a LOT of people love the brand, myself included, and the shoes are so pretty, however, I have to wonder what is going on. Some running stores do not even carry Nike anymore due to the poor make of parts in the shoe. Basically mine were giving me zero support and actually injuring me. Very disappointing but also educational experience. My advice to you is be sure you talk to an experienced professional when being fitted for athletic shoes and really make sure they fit properly or return them. Do not just buy shoes because they are pretty (guilty!), your shoes are a tool for your workout first and foremost and should function perfectly for your activity. Trust me, it's not worth it.

I am also really enjoying these slimming leggings that Marika sent over as well, they really compliment your shape. Marika is also offering King & Kind readers 30% off your entire purchase through August 31, 2014, just use code 'MM30'

Lastly, how cute is this jacket? You better get it while its available since the $47.99 price tag is such a steal compared to other similar jackets that are $80+.

Have a great weekend, thank you for reading and following King & Kind via bloglovin or GFC.

  1. I LOVE Asics! I got fitted at a running store a couple years ago and haven't looked back! I need a lot of arch support because I pronate, so many things I didn't know before getting advice from the professionals. Before then, I always just bought whatever was on sale and cute. My boyfriend loves his Nike's maybe I should share this info with him. Have a great weekend!

    1. It's definitely good to know. If your boyfriend likes his shoes and doesnt have any problems then perhaps he got lucky or is using a good line. Obviously lots of people wear Nike so it is very interesting/confusing with the injury vs. non-injury situation going on.

  4. Amber, I love the Marika line, I have so many nice capris, pants and tops that I love wearing to the gym :-). It's probably my favourite sport line :-)

You look so cute in that pony tail. Thats a bummer you had such a probelme with Nike shoes. I am working out with Nikes and never had a problem.
