I have been starting to search for throw pillows for the living room and have come across so many beautiful options, I thought I would share some of my favorites with you today. I intend to get 22" pillows and maybe a couple lumbar pillows all down or down alternative filled for our sectional. I have found over the years of throw pillow buying, that the cotton stuffed pillows just do not hold up for long. They end up looking distorted and mashed up with how frequently we use them, i.e. Dave crumples them up and lays all over them. Regardless, they should be functional and should last years, not a year. 

Throw pillows are a great way to update and add some interest to a space. I like to switch them up seasonally or at least for Christmas. Did you know H&M now has a home department? I didn't either and I found some beautiful velvet pillow covers that I think warrant a mention here. I mean $9.99 ?!!

I haven't quite decided on any for myself just yet. I want to wait to see if the coffee table I ordered works out and then plan accent colors after that. I also may decide to make my own covers depending on what fabric I come across. It's a LOT cheaper and I have done this in the past with gorgeous results, here she is...

how to make a throw pillow cover

These instructions look a lot like the ones I used a couple years ago. All you need is a proper sewing machine, basic sewing kit, zipper, fabric and your down insert. I didn't use a pillow form, I think I used a pencil to mark on the back of the fabric. I would like to replace my insert with a nice fluffy down insert to perk her up a bit.
