I have been a fan of Lauren Leiss' Pure Style Home blog for years. Long before I started my own blog or bought my own house. Today, I thought I would talk about Lauren's first book Habitat: The Field Guide To Decorating since I have been devouring it lately and I am so happy for her!
What I love about Lauren's style is that it partners nature, modern, classic, and a little rustic all in one. She has a very distinct style full of greenery and natural tones but always with a pop of something interesting that keeps you engaged. She seems so humble and is so talented, I have loved learning even more about her in her book.
Habitat guides you through Lauren's own home and favorite design projects providing us with tips and tons of inspiration. From lighting and window treatments to rug options and floor plans. She gives insight into how she designs a home and also provides room by room advice with checklists to teach us how to bring rooms alive. I have been studying my way through her field guide and am getting tons of great ideas.
You might also be interested to learn that Lauren has 4 children, recently they added a baby girl to a brood of boys and they live in Northern Virginia. She also has her own line of textiles you can shop here. I don't know how she and her husband juggle a business, their own home renovation, and 3 kids + a newborn, not to mention writing this book. Really incredible and inspiring. I have zero children and feel like I can't make time for everything I want to accomplish. Girlfriend's got it going on. Happy Friday! Go get yourself a copy and curl up this Fall with Habitat!
P.S. Not a sponsored post, I just LOVE Lauren Leiss.
